There was a moment tonight. When Obama had won (and so clearly) and we were stupid with happiness. We all ran outside and joined several hundred people who also ran outside. We chanted and screamed and were generally some of the happiest people you've ever seen. Then someone started to sing the national anthem. Then everyone joined in and it echoed and people were crying and screaming. I've never been so proud. Look at what we did.

Remember when I spilled champagne on my laptop? Now my spacebar is messed up. Lol. So worth that moment of sheer joy though.
Minnesota has to recount all our ballots because the senate race is too close. They are only separated by 477 votes out of 2.9 million.

That's a really close race! I noticed that in some states if people hadn't voted for a third party they could have flipped which way the vote went. Stupid independents. Sorry sorry about the champagne. I hadn't realized that happened...which isn't too surprising. Also. I am totally out of cell phone minutes. Fyi.

Ya. Us Minnesotans love our independents. If there is ever an independent president, you can bet money he'd/she'd be from Minnesota. Haha.

Similar to the moment in the campus pub when, after we figured out that Jon Stewart wasn't kidding, we started jumping up and down and hugging each other and crying and dancing. And then watched all the speeches, rapt, and then walked home and, every group we passed, screamed "Obama!", threw their hands in the air, and started doing a victory dance. And then I should have gone to the post-election dance party but instead I was so emotionally exhausted that I went home and got in bed and, when I woke up in the morning, it was really real.
